Can you show us any reliable documented sources that indicate the coronavirus isnt as bad as it was projected to be? Keep in mind not all projections painted an apocalyptic scenario and each projection made various assumptions.

People like to compare the coronavirus to the common flu, so here's a quick comparison of US statistics:

Flu: 39-56 million infected, 24k-62k deaths. Thats .0006%-.0011% death rate
Coronavirus: 1.9 million infected, 109k dead, .057% death rate

Those percentages may seem small, but anyone with a basic understanding of math can see that the ratio of infected vs dead is much greater with the coronavirus.

According to current statistics, out of the currently resolved cases there is an 11% mortality rate. Essentially 1 in 10 people die from this virus. We shouldnt be dismissing the virus because projected death rates are lower than they were expected but rather thankful that it hasnt been worse. Lets not forget that as a society, plenty of us have done our part in taking protective measures to help curb the spread of the virus. This could very well be one of the reasons the previous projections appear to look overblown.

Out of curiosity, can you link me to some of the projected death rates you've read about in the past?

At the end of the day, you can believe or doubt what you read on the internet about the virus. As is the case with anything on the internet, some if its true, some of its BS, some of its sensationalized, etc, etc, etc. But what you should do is listen to what your local doctors and nurses working in the hospitals are saying. And overwhelmingly, they are saying this is a serious issue not to be taken lightly.

Btw, here are my links to the stats posted above:
