If you are willing to consider watches in the $2000 range, take a look at Mont Blanc. They have some very nice watches in a variety of colours, straps and options (automatic, battery). The brand provides name recognition and they are high quality time pieces. If you want "serious" watches, wait until you can consider the $4000 range (Panerai, Dubey & Schaldenbrand, Glashutte, Cartier, Blancpain).
