Our 2011 F25 xDrive35i had it as well, but a similar equipped 28i would not (though I think the 35i dropped it on non-M Sport in subsequent years as well).

I don't see any difference in the US configurator between the 35i and 50i regarding the transmission. M Sport gives you the sport auto, I don't see it in any other package nor as a stand alone option, at least not on the website.
As for standard on the 50i, it says the same as the 35, you get the 8SPD, but not the sport auto.
