Hope it’s a 4” barreled version for more velocity and better accuracy. .357 pistol is a little light for me for bear protection but its better then banging on pots and pans. I would use hard cast, full power loads, check out Buffalo Bore ammo.
Bears have thick bodies with lots of hair and fat. You want as much penetration as possible to get to vitals. Blacks aren’t Griz and are usually much easy to dissuade.
