Getting into the nitty gritty of cloud computation logistics for my current coursework. I've been waiting forever for this.
Cloud computing (in theory and practice) is very interesting. I am reading a book right now that takes it to a whole different level, philosophically. Not certain how far the author will take it, but he rarely disappoints with his ambition. The concept of cloud and swarms and massively distributed architecture - whether at storage or compute layer - is fascinating and has some bewildering ramifications. Image applying it to a neural network - a real biological one - people. Like the Borg or a hive mind - but where each node retains free will. What would happen if everyone had access to collective human knowledge at processing speed, not Google, but usable in real time computation. And then have it paired with reason? Would there be filters? Who would control them? Hmmm...
