I have the same issue -- it's like a synthetic popping sound. At first I thought it was just interference (was using Bluetooth audio source) but I plugged in the B&W USB stick that came with the car (with all that B&W music) and the popping occurs there too. It's not super often, but it's often enough to be annoying.
If anyone has a bead on what the problem could be, please post!
