No, currently the 5 series is too big of a car for me. Plus it's quite a bit more than what I can afford at the moment.

I want my dad to buy one. I've been telling my parents to each get a BMW since they're getting old now and should treat themselves to something nice in their lives. Their house is almost payed off, they've owned their cars for 10+ years, and they go cheap on everything else. Their excuse now is they're putting 2 kids through college.

I'd get it instead if the 335i E92 wasn't such a sexy piece of ass.

Nope. Even after all this time I still think it's predecesor was a nicer design. Personal taste but I much prefer the 3 series coupe.

Is it a nice car? Absolutely and I get to drive them on a semi regular basis.

Does it fit my tastes/needs/wants? Not at all, unless I'm going on a 1500 mile road trip

If I wanted a sedan, and it had to be a BMW, I'd rather have the 535i over the E90 335i. But since I like coupe's and the E92 is just so sexy it's not even close.

To be honest, I dont really like any sedan that BMW currently makes, the M5 is ok looks wise, the engine is amazing of course, but outside of that, none of them really do it for me. It's kinda sad actualy as I loved the last two 5 series styles..

No. If I did, I would have gotten a 530i instead of my 330i. I prefer something smaller and more sporty.

I dont really like the current 5 series.

535 is not as fast as 335. Besides 5 series is a pretty ugly car.

I did not even consider a 5 series when shopping (even though the A6 was shortlisted). And here in Dubai, the e92 335 is almost the same cost as a 540.

Absolutely not. It's a boat and a fugly one at that. IMHO, the 335i Coupe, and possibly the 135i Coupe, are the only BMWers that Bangle hasn't overdesigned thus far.

I would take one in a heart beat. With all the money I spent modding my e90 I could have gotten one too... Too bad it wasn't out back in 06.

Your parents sound very fiscally responsible. Getting older and keeping cars for 10 years doesn't mean they should throw away 60k each and treat themselves now. I may be 40 years away from retirement, but I figure if anything my consumption would taper off, not accelerate as I near retirement age. Hopefully you didn't use the word cheap in a bad context.
