Red face 530 rear seat removing

Hi all,
I am new on the forum, and hope somebody can help me. I have a 2004 530i (E60). The pull-down arm rest in the middle of the rear seat has got stuck, and can not be pulled out/down. Perhaps the latch that unlocks it is broken. I believe i have to remove the rear seat back (upright portion) to fix this. To remove the seat back (rear), I opened four screws accesssible through the boot. The upper portion of the seat back is now quite loose, and can be pulled forward a few inches, but no further. The screws that I opened have still not freed the back fully. Any guidance please? Thanks. Bhupi.
