Is there a premium price for M5 and M6 too?

It's been a quite while since M5 and M6 released in USA..
Is there a premium price for M5 and M6 too?
I think if I buy one in dealership, then I can get discount from MSRP
But I dont know about ordering..
If I order the car through dealer, is it still possible to get discount? or plus plus from MSRP..
thank you

if it's an order, no... if it's one in stock... no

what's the point with a 108k car anyway? even a 2k discount is less than 2%. I wouldn't expect anywhere near that much of a discount either... even from a dealership that really wants to get rid of it. all the M5 and M6's I've sold were at list. Then again, the typical M6/M5 buyer isn't the type of person that even asks for a discount.

on another note... don't buy one until after the 08's come out. that is all.

Seeing how you are a BMW CA, this is not a surprise you would say this. When I bought my car, I bought it for discount, even though they are still mostly going for MSRP or above. Get the best price possible! One of the CA's even told me that whats the difference between a few hundred bucks between a car that costs 60k? Well, a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks, and I'd rather keep it than spend it. You don't get rich by spending all your money.

Question to you CA's out there: do the facelifted highlights carry over to the M versions of the 5 and 6? I've noticed that the M5's still have amber in the headlights...

Reason being because my dad's lookin' to buy an M6, and the CA said to wait until the 08's come out. Will the 08 M6's have the amber-less headlights and new jewel taillight encasements?

If your buying a car that cost that much a few hundred is a bag of shells...The dealer would laugh behind your back...But they will probably give you something off for sure...I mean the car is over a 100 gees

A few hundred bucks is still a few hundred bucks. Why would you spend it? Unless your CA is your own personal friend, why give them extra money? All CA's sell the EXACT same product. They don't do anything that can justify you paying more for one car than the same car at another dealership.

Thats kind of a dumb comment...you seem like you sell cars for a living and your opinion is tainted...People that have made money in large sums typically understand the value and will ask for a discount if they know they can get it. The people who don't bother with discounts either have easy money or are to insecure to ask in front of car salesperson.

There's 2 brand new m6s sitting in the showroom at my dealer. Both black. I doubt they are hard to find :P and your method for shaving $ off the negotiated price should work either way ordering or not, however i bet it's a tad easier to haggle with them when the car is sitting right there on the lot and you appear to be a serious buyer.

I know a couple of people who are seriously wealthy (like $100MM+) and they are some of the cheapest people around. Not with friends and family, but with paying out unnecessary cash when there is a deal to be had. They didn't get rich by giving away a few hundred or thousand dollars in circumstances when they didn't need to do so.

If a salesman laughs at you for asking for a better deal, behind your back or not, he should ask himself why he's the one selling the M6 not the one buying it.

Totally agree. My dad is like that, and today he's looking for a 911 or Aston. If a salesman laughs at me, I laugh back because he's a car salesman.

Oh, and remember how that BMW CA above said you can't get much money off a M5? Well, here you go... http://www.carsdirect.com/build/opti...&restore=false You can get the car for 1k off MSRP just using carsdirect.

+1, keyword being IF. I treat them with respect, but the minute I detect an attitude, well, all gloves are off

Not true...generally people who have money want to keep and they will general haggle on car prices. When I bought my E60 M5 I called probably 30 BMW dealerships before buying. Typical M5/M6 buyers aren't generally ignorant enough to not shop around and find the best deal.

The same is true from our perspective. I try to be as accommodating as possible, make a fair deal (win win), and provide an ownership experience that is as great as the handling on the cars they buy.

m5s and m6s are easy to find, and you can get money off of almost any car. You should negotiate the price just as you would with any other car.

BMW335icDDS, FYI my dad just bought a 997 Carrera 4S - sticker was 102k, he got it for 92k- the higher the price of the car, the more room there is to move!

yeah perhaps I came off a little loose earlier... the real answer is that there is always a deal to be had... but typically not much on an M car. The chances do go up drastically on cars that are on the lot though, so I'd look around. Most of the people that are buying M5/M6's seem to want to avoid the typical back and forth negotiations because in the grand scheme of things the discount won't change the total effect. Keep in mind that these same people are leasing the cars through their companies and often get 15k miles a year in the lease but only put on 5k. If someone is purchasing the car, it certainly behooves them to get the best deal possible. I wouldn't lose a deal over a small discount, but since each center gets a limited amount of M allocations and they are usually all spoken for it's harder to do.

now as for the 08's... they will have different lights, different front and back bumpers and a few other things... including the 6 preset buttons for idrive and 6fl option. seriously... if someone is looking to get one they should wait for the 08 or get an 07 that's on the lot at a nice discount once the 08's start rolling in.

I agree with a lot of what has been said. If there are cars sitting at the lot - there is more of a deal to be had. Plus, I would suggest keeping your mind open. Sure look at BMW - but do not forget Porsche or MB. It will take legwork but BMW will deal with you as long as they know you are not fixated on BMW and that you are capable of taking your $$ elsewhere.

I have found BMW dealerships to be snooty the first time you go there. I did not like my experience at the local Dealership the first time I went there. Decided not to go back. Happened to do a BMW Winter Driving Course. Was asked if I had ever gone to the local Dealership. I told them of my displeasure. Got a call apologising for my displeasure and then they were all nice.

BMW Dealerships need to do something about their attitude. Just my $0.02
