I was charged $450 for battery replacemenr on my2008 528!!!!

That is unbelievable!!! Is it worth getting the battery registered?? Would I have been in as good shape if I purchased a Duralast from autozone for $120?

I've used many Duralast batteries and have no problem. Not in my Nissans, BMWs, and Porsche. $450 is highway robbery.

Michael.

I would be very surprised if extended warranty covers battery as it is a maintenance item. Automotive warranty coverage should be for manufacturer defects. It's akin to getting vehicle the warranty to cover tires or alignment and neither the factory warranty or free maintenance covers them.

Suffice to say, I believe the warranty on a new BMW battery is 2yr/50k, but I'm probably wrong...

Michael.

sounds awful. I had a BMW dealer screw me over a healight bulb earlier this year. Live and learn, if it's not covered by the warranty research the forums first and find a good independent mechanic who will do the job for 1/2 the price.
