Our next ride?

We are getting pretty close to pulling the trigger for late fall delivery, likely on the 2013 Ram 3500 diesel crew cab chassis.

We've been looking for a small motor home for a while, and the ability to go off-road is a big plus. Hard to find little ones in the US -- we've rented similar vehicles in Oz, NZ, and Europe though. The van types don't quite do it for us.

More info on these offroad RV's here:

I think the 335 is overkill as a toad...we are considering a light dirt bike or 125 scooter like the Zuma, though.

We won't be full-timing, so the Bimmer can stay nice and snug at home in her garage while we are gone....plus she's not fond of off-roading any more, ever since we got her good and stuck in the mountains east of Winthrop Washington in late spring a couple years ago. I had to walk out about 8 miles to where I could get cell reception to call for help!

Just out of curiousity, why would you get this raher than a pick-up and a seperate camper? Don't get me wrong, these seem very cool, but you lose all the utility of having a pick-up truck and it looks like you'd pay more to lose that versatility.

Lower center of gravity, much more interior space, better interior layout, walk-through (well, ok, maybe step or crawl-through) from cab to camper, solid mount on the frame for off-road. Those are most of the reasons.

For us, we really have no other use for a truck, and I doubt very much we'd be mounting and dismounting the camper.

Cost wise, it's not really much difference, by the time you outfit a truck and big camper the same as the motorhome.
