If you're rich enough, you too can roll back odometers in a Ferrari

interesting to say the least...

All the more reason to hate Ferrari as a company. I know they make magnificent cars, but I've heard far too many horror stories about dealing with the brand. Not that I'm any danger of being able to afford one, but if I could, they wouldn't be on my radar.

There is no reasonable explanation for this.

Sure there is....NEARLY everything and everyone has a price

We're talking about rolling back an odometer not a contract hire to kill someone

Not suggesting that its not unethical but in the overall scale of things I'm not the least bit surprised

Ferrari will probably cover itself with a statement which will mention the requirement and need for odometer roll back after each car gets tested after production.

The fact someone has been authorizing this illegal action is likely not Ferrari's, "as a corporation", liability. Person will get fired or charged and this will be swept under the rug. Private dealership will take the major hit in this lawsuit.

I'm talking about there being no reasonable explanation to justify a rollback.

Totally agree.....I'm sure its either criminal or there will be some contorted italian logic/overly wordy explanation that will leave you begging for the explanation to just end

Never did and still don't like Ferrari, but isn't tampering with a vehicle's odometer a crime?

No need, they only have 'declared' mileage, all we can do is choose to believe and hope for the best.

There are other ways to alter the odometer.
Just watch the end of "Ferris Buellers Day off"

Part of the reason we can't "afford" a Ferrari is due to rolling back odometers to keep the prices high.

Imagine - If Ferrari is found liable in this case, there's a class-action lawsuit for all those that wanted to purchase a Ferrari, but couldn't because the used prices were driven up by odometer tampering.
