I am looking at the (Painted Front Grill Set for the E60) how does the paint hold up on the grills? Have you had any problems with it chipping off?

We use PPG brand paint like the rest of your car so it will hold up as well as your bumper. The advantage to the matte black grills is that they will not chip however the painted grills tend to hold up well, of course not like the matte black plastic.

Could you do a matte black plastic with painted black over it so even if it does chip you wouldn't really notice the chips? I used to have black grills on my e90 and it was painted over the chrome and it would drive me crazy when it chipped.
