Hi, I have a 2007 550i and the front rotors have visible grooves. When stopping you can feel extreme vibration. Car stops fine though. Though iDrive says I have over 10K miles remaining on both front and rear pads, I'm thinking of changing them so I don't have to deal with the annoying vibration each time I hit the brake pedal.
Would like to know a few things: - Should I replace both front and rear pads at the same time? - Resurfacing/turning the front rotors is not an option so I will have to replace them. So again, should I only replace fronts or both front and rears? - OEM pad prices for me are $110 front pair, $129 rear pair - OEM rotor prices are $296 front pair, $344 rear pair (expensive for me) - Sensors are $22 each times 2 - Can I use existing sensors or need new? - Should I buy the above from the dealer or buy OEM from another source or buy aftermarket? - If aftermarket, can you advise what brand and where? (Links would be great). Car has 147k, got oil leaks fixed recently, would like to keep it for a while, is my DD. Thanks for your help. |

I always buy all of my brake parts for my E30 or E60 from Pelican Parts or ECS tuning. I just did full rear brakes on my E60 using parts from ECS Tuning. OEM brake parts are highway robbery and totally unncessary in my opinion.
