That is exactly what I was thinking re: M-DCT being fitted to it. I don't think BMW would commit the time/energy/resources to make this car just for hype/PR/"celebration" purposes if they aren't going to put it in production to sell it, so there is certainly an engineering/future product planning purpose behind it too and testing the tranny makes sense.
