Actually, it is the other way around.
Globally, the E39 M5 was produced for 5 model years (1999 - 2003) but the E60 M5 was produced for 6 model years (2005-2010).
And here in the U.S. the E60 M5 spanned 5 model years (2006-2010) while the E39 M5 was here for only 4 model years (2000-2003).
Which makes the E60 sales drubbing even more embarrassing.
