I have a 2008 and was looking into upgrading both. The BMW dealer can determine if you're prewired for satellite by the checking VIN number. The plug in is in the trunk - pretty straightforward if prewired. The kist around $500.
As for navigation, the recommendation that this was going to be too expensive to upgrade since the guts is all different.
