The production capacity is not increased by this, but more US market models (non-X vehicles) could be swapped in if that need arises.

From the cnbc article its unclear if there is any change in the models currently being produced in SC
This is for manufacturing infrastructure (not full assembly line volume) of future X Series Models, with significant emphasis on electrified variants.

450,000 capacity includes X7 which goes online next year. Spartanburg also produces PKD and CKD kits for other assembly locations.
