Hello,

I have an iPhone 4. I'm wondering what would be the correct iPhone adapter to get for this car so that I can connect the phone to the car's systems and charge it at the same time.

Do I need to have selected some sort of special option when purchasing the car to enable this? or can I simply buy an adapter?

As it is I can stream audio from the iPhone over the car's stereo system via Bluetooth. I also have the iPhone paired with the car for phone conversations via bluetooth.

I am seeing kits for sale on Amazon, but I'm just not sure what would work for me.

Noobie here..lol
Honda guy all the way but sadly HMC just isnt catering to enthusiasts anymore.
Want in to the BMW world but quite honestly overwhelmed with all that needs to be considered.
Currently have 09 accord coupe; nice but just too slow and large. Car I traded for the accord was an RSX-s that burned oil since day 1

Looking at 135 but finding them is tough new or used here in San Antonio.
Here are some things I'm working through:

- Go new or used? Is the 54 motor that much better than the 55 to consider used only? If so, what about the HPFP issues?...

- What model years have the 54 & what is the best MY 135 to search for??

- If going for new, should I jump now or wait until MY2014?

- Total cost of ownership and reliability: once the warranty runs out and aging begins, do BMW's hold up well or are they constantly in need of repairs? (I'm an aircraft mech and ex honda tech so most maintenance stuff is do-able for me)

As you can see, I have alot of work to do researching this stuff. I'm patient and want to do the right thing especially considering the $$ involved. I also looked at the Audi A5 but fear reliability issues down the road. My intentions are to get the car I want and keep her til the wheels fall off. I'm even prepared to pay extra for the color I want, Valencia orange metallic which the dealer told me I could special order for an additional 3 grand, ouch- cant believe I just said that.

Thx in advance for any guidance or advice from a total noobie to not just this board but BMW in general!!;)

I suspect the rear would be ok but the front would cause problems. I think these wheels really suit the car and would love to be able to fit them.

then because of listening to the family I bought a mercedes slk 200 kompressor...I've had it for 3 months and decided I wanted my beamer back !
SLK:

What I wanne change:

-Chipping it to 220 bhp
-White roof
-some good looking rims
-Interior trim to carbon fiber look
-Lowering !
-Window tinting
-Angel eyes to white
-Lci automatic gearshift knob
-Black grill
-M sport stearing wheel
-maybe putting m3 look fendors ( not sure about that yet ...)

and Btw i must say ... IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK ! :D BEAMER 4-EVER !!

Thanks to everyone that responded to my squealing brake thread. That lead me to just putting on all new brake pads. Pads were original OEM with 10,000 miles. Looked brand new. But they squealed and turned my rims black. And holy crap were they touchy.

Based on this forum, I bought a set of the Akebono pads. Was going to get the other kind everyone recommended, but the Akebono's consistently got good reviews for low noise and low dust, my two top priorities.

Installed them last night and this morning. Did the mating dance (60mph - 10mph hard stops, 8 times in a row). Got them all happy together and life is good. No squeal. They are a softer feel than the OEM pads. If you want hard stops, these will get the ABS going with good pedal force. The OEM pads would get the ABS going pulling into the garage. These seem to be perfect for me and especially for my wife.

Thanks for all the help.

And I brought it in to have it checked out by the local, independent garage guy that specializes in BMW's. He gave it his stamp of approval. And then charged me $162 for an oil change. Seems that's not outrageous so I said thank you and paid him.

Life is good.
